I have been watching so much booktube lately, and loving all of the new content. While watching, I came across The New Year’s Book Tag, created by Heather @ Bookables. Here’s a link to her original video from 2017! I absolutely adore her content – and share a Gilmore Addiction. This tag seems like a fun way to start 2021! So, here we go!
→How many books are you planning to read in 2020?
At the beginning of every year, I set my reading goal to 20 books. Last year was frickin wild and I read over 100 books! Hopefully I can hit 100 again this year and keep this momentum, but I’ll still be setting my goal to a reachable (for me) number: 20.
→Name 5 books that you didn’t get to this year but want to make a priority in 2020.
Oh man. Y’all. So many books. So many TBRs.
- The Dream Thieves, Maggie Stiefvater
- The Diviners, Libba Bray
- Lois Lane: Double Down, Gwenda Bond
- The Great Hunt, Robert Jordan
- Priory of the Orange Tree, Samantha Shannon
→What genre do you want to read more of?
I would like to read more nonfiction, and unrelated, I would like to read more standalone novels. I feel like there are so many important books that I haven’t read because I’m stuck in a perpetual series mode. I always pick up new series because once I like a world, I don’t want to leave it for a while. There is something amazing about a world so poignant that it only needs one book, though. And, I’d like to read more books like that.
→Name 3 non book related goals for 2020.
Hmm. This year I would like to cultivate more peace around my home. I would like to journal more, and I would like to declutter a whole bunch. I also would like to organize my old school papers and scan them – so that I can recycle the physical notes and still keep the information.
→What’s a book you’ve had forever that you still need to read?
Oof. This is a little sneak peak at a soon to be publish post, but I have owned Catwoman: Soulstealer since 2016 and honestly haven’t even thought about reading it since then. Yikes. Sorry, SJM!
→ One word that your hoping 2020 will be.
Good.
