Oh deer

Lately, there has been a lot of rain and thunderstorms and, while I am grateful that the weather has dipped some, the freshly filled holes for the fence posts have eroded a little – leaving just enough space for the little one to rebel.

I was at work, and received a terrifying phone call from my sister informing me of Jax’s breakout. There is a small wooded area near my house, and the pup is so small and so very, very brown that it would be almost impossible to find him if he didn’t want to be found – especially because it was just past 7pm.

It seems that he became quite interested in the deer that I so greatly miss. He gleefully returned, in the form of a brown blur, pouncing over a hill, ears flapping in the wind, triumphant smile on his face. The deer were spotted minutes later, presumably searching for their newfound companion. Thank goodness for the sounds of cat treats in a can or else I’m assuming the deer family would have had to adopt a fifth.
